Member Highlight: Neighborhood Villages
Neighborhood Villages envisions a future where all families have access to affordable, high-quality early education and care. They've been an Exchange Member since September 2020. In October 2021 they expanded their membership to a community-based network. Network members include ELLIS, East Boston Social Centers, Nurtury, Horizons for Homeless Children, and Epiphany.
Neighborhood Villages builds and tests innovative scalable solutions to achieve their envisioned future. Their network members will implement Mobility Mentoring in their early education centers. Neighborhood Villages will provide Family Navigators to each partner. These navigators will pilot and test programs to transform early education and care delivery.
Along with testing innovative solutions, Neighborhood Villages advocates for policy reform. Through narrative change, advocacy, and partnership building, Neighborhood Villages is building a movement. They are driving the policy change needed to ensure that all families can access high-quality early education and care. Further, they are advocating for investment in providers and educators.
As part of their awareness initiative, they've started the podcast “No one is coming to save us.” The hosts have open conversations about the challenges facing early education and how to solve them.
